Crest Nicholson has launched Smart Own, its Shared Ownership scheme at two developments in Suffolk. The scheme, which is delivered in partnership with Legal & General is now available at Aspen Grange in Stowmarket and Saffron Fields in Red Lodge, and is designed to help people achieve their homebuying aspirations and get onto the housing ladder.
Smart Own can offer an easier, more affordable way to become a homeowner, because you start by buying just a share of a home. It provides homebuyers with the opportunity to purchase up to 75% of the property and pay a subsided rent on the remaining share.
For example, purchasing a 50% share with the Smart Own scheme, would mean a lower upfront deposit on the share purchased and rent of 2.75% payable on the unowned share.
The scheme will be available to eligible buyers with a household income of less than £80,000, and whose income covers the monthly costs.
Karen Coulson, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Eastern said: "Each year, we assist numerous customers in achieving their dream of homeownership. We recognise that more and more people are struggling to enter or move up the property ladder. That's why we've introduced our Smart Own scheme, offering a simpler, more affordable path to owning a brand new energy efficient home. If you're interested, our friendly Sales team is here to provide more information and guide you through the process."
The Smart Own scheme is available on a selection of 3 bedroom homes at Aspen Grange starting from £145,000, and a selection of 3 and 4 bedrooms homes at Saffron Fields starting from £155,000.
