Kegworth Primary School Visit

Local housebuilder Crest Nicholson invited a number of primary school children to visit their Kegworth Gate development to get hands-on with housebuilding, which they have been learning about in the classroom.

Early Years Foundation Stage children from Kegworth Primary School, in Kegworth, Derby, were joined by Lee Wale, Build Manager at Crest Nicholson’s Midlands division, who spoke to the children about how new homes are built. He also spoke to the children about the materials and vehicles used in housebuilding, and health and safety on a building site.

Vanessa MacNee, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Midlands, comments: “We were really pleased to welcome pupils from Kegworth Primary School and support their learning. It’s really encouraging to see that children are learning about housebuilding from a young age and we hope that some will be inspired to enter the sector when they are older!

“At Crest Nicholson, we are not only committed to building homes but supporting the wider community. Our work with local schools is a big part of this and we look forward to continuing our involvement with the schools in the area.”

Jane Panter, Deputy Head Teacher at Kegworth Primary School, said: “The children were delighted to go to the development and receive firsthand knowledge of housebuilding from a Crest Nicholson expert. Visits like these really help bring the topics the children are learning about to life and we’re very grateful to the team for welcoming us to the site.”
