Award-winning developer Crest Nicholson has supported the local Winford Pre-School charity ball this year to help raise funds for improving the outdoor classroom and encourage children to get into gardening.
Crest Nicholson had already worked with one of South West’s leading landscapers, Craig Shanks from Heritage Landscapes, to donate a brand-new planter box for Winford Pre-School’s outdoor classroom, which is proving to be a hit with the children.
Hayley Wedlake, Committee Chair at Winford Pre-School commented: “The funds that we have raised already through ticket sales for the ball will go a long way to improving our outdoor classroom.”
Craig Shanks from Heritage Landscapes, and Crest Nicholson’s lead show home landscaper, said: “It is fantastic to see the children at Winford Pre-School getting excited about gardening and enjoying the planter box we installed last year. I’m a huge advocate for getting kids to learn about horticulture and growing food from a young age. The outdoor classroom will be a useful space for them to develop their skills while having fun at the same time.”
Laura Osborne, Sales and Marketing Executive for Crest Nicholson South West, commented: “We are always looking for ways to help support the local community, and Winford Pre-School’s fundraising ball meant we were able to contribute in a meaningful way. We are very pleased to know the pupils at Winford Pre-School are enjoying the planter box and hope our table sponsorship at the ball drives further improvements to the outdoor gardening area at the school.”
The fundraising ball took place at Aldwick Court Farm, and tickets included a three-course meal. The local community can get involved by making a donation to Winford Pre-School by contacting 01275 472742.
