Leading house builder Crest Nicholson has secured planning approval to deliver 233 new homes in West Yorkshire. Situated in the market town of Elland the development will offer a diverse range of energy-efficient homes, from one to five bedrooms.
Homes will feature Electric Vehicle Charging Points and over 70% of the new homes will meet M4(2) building requirements designed to be accessible and adaptable for people with a range of needs.
As part of the site development Crest Nicholson will deliver upgraded open space, recreational areas and new footpath links as well as investing in sustainable travel measures such as new bus shelters. The development is located close to the planned Elland railway station which will connect the town to the existing Wigan to Leeds and Bradford to Huddersfield routes.
Simon Utley, Managing Director for Crest Nicholson Yorkshire said:
“We are thrilled to have received approval at planning committee to deliver much needed high-quality homes in Elland, providing both affordable and private homes for residents to meet local demand.
This milestone represents another momentous step forward in our commitment to create thriving new communities and delivering high quality homes across Yorkshire.”
Of the 233 homes, 46 will be affordable housing and 12 plots will be self build, enabling the buyer to choose the design and layout of their home.
The site is ideally located close to the M62 and less than 5 miles to the centre of Huddersfield. Work is anticipated to start in early 2025 with the first homes due for completion early 2026.
