Local housebuilder Crest Nicholson hosted its annual charity golf event at Olton Golf Club in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer, the charity that helps young people and their families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.
The day provided some friendly competition between team Crest Nicholson and 15 partners from its Midlands operations, representing various trades such as groundworks, construction, electrical, plumbing, and signage. Congratulations goes to the winners on the day, M. Lambe Construction who took home vouchers for golf equipment supplied by the pro-shop, plus prizes donated by business partners.
A day of golfing was followed by a celebration evening where the Crest Nicholson team auctioned off a weekend coastal stay, signed football shirts, and much more. Altogether, the event raised over £11,400 for charity.
Tim Brickley, Managing Director, Crest Nicholson Midlands, said:
“We’re extremely proud of everyone across Crest Nicholson coming together to support Young Lives vs Cancer at this event. Our sponsorship of the charity demonstrates our commitment to the community and desire to deliver more than just homes but to help provide support for those that need it the most. This donation will help Young Lives vs Cancer with their invaluable work in the local community and beyond through the most difficult times.”
Byron Geldard, Partnerships Fundraiser at Young Lives vs Cancer, added: “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone at Crest Nicholson Midlands. The money raised will help go to support those children, young people and their families who are going through the hardest of times.”
Young Lives vs Cancer helps children and young people and their families to face cancer and everything it throws at them. The charity provides day-to-day support through providing everything from information and guidance to clinical care and specialist play during treatment. Financial support includes helping to access grants and benefits, to liaising with schools, employers and providing help with housing issues. The charity’s Homes from Home also offer a free place to stay nearby the hospital so families can be together.
